The Palaearctic genera and subgenera of the tribe Trachyphloeini Lacordaire, 1863 are revised, described or redescribed, keyed, illustrated and listed. A phylogenetic analysis of the tribe was based on 42 characters and its aim was to verify the systematic validity of genera, and to determine their phylogenetic relationships. A new generic classification of the tribe is proposed. For the analysis, new and neglected characters were used, mainly characters of the female genitalia and the ventral side of body: characters are discussed from a cladistic point of view. The newly defined tribe Trachyphloeini includes 13 genera. The following new genera are described: Massimiellus gen. n. (based on species known from Morocco, type species Massimiellus atlanticus sp. n.), Pelletierellus gen. n. (based on species known from southern part of central Europe, southern Europe and Asia minor, type species Trachyphloeus ventricosus Germar, 1824), Romualdius gen. n. (based on species known from Europe, northern Africa and Kazakhstan, type species Trachyphloeus bifoveolatus Beck, 1817), Stuebenius gen. n. (based on species known from southern Europe, southern Russia and Asia minor, type species Trachyphloeus granulatus Seidlitz, 1868) and Zarazagaia gen. n. (based on species known from Balkans and Asia minor, type species Trachyphloeus rugicollis Seidlitz, 1868). New subgenus Osmanotrachyphloeus subgen. n. of the genus Trachyphloeus Germar, 1817 is erected for the species T. planophthalmus Reitter, 1896, living in Turkey and Armenia (type species Trachyphloeus planophthalmus Reitter, 1896). One new species is described: Massimiellus atlanticus sp. n. from Morocco. Four genera are excluded from the tribe Trachyphloeini: the genus Callirhopalus Hochhuth, 1851 to tribe Cneorhinini Lacordaire, 1863, the genus Trachvphilodes Voss, 1948 to tribe Psallidiini Lacordaire, 1863 and the genus Trachyphloeoides Formanek, 1907 to tribe Blosyrini Lacordaire, 1863. The genus Stierlinia Desbrochers, 1909 is treated here as incertae sedis in subfamily Entiminae Schoenherr, 1823. One new generic synonymy is proposed: Trachyphilodes Voss, 1948 as a junior synonym of Psallidium Herbst, 1795. Trachyphloeus dieckmanni Petryszak, 1983 from Bulgaria is transferred to the tribe Otiorhynchini Schoenherr, 1826, but the proper genus and species assignation in the genus must be verified. The Algerian and Morrocan species Cathormiocerus semidepressus Pic, 1904, C. theryi Ruter, 1941, Trachyphloeus biskrensis Pic, 1903, T. cruciatus Seidlitz, 1868 and T. ovipennis Formanek, 1907 are transferred to the tribe Holcorhinini Desbrochers, 1898. Trachyphloeus coloratus Allard, 1869 from Algeria and Tunisia is transferred to the genus Paracyclomaurus Desbrochers, 1898, new combination, tribe Holcorhinini: proper generic and species assignation in the tribe Holcorhinini must be verified. Trachyphloeus inermis Boheman, 1843 is transferred to the tribe Sciaphilini Sharp, 1891 to the genus Archeophloeus lablokoff-Khnzorian, 1959, new combination. The following new combinations are proposed: Pelletierellus alens (Angelov, 1980), P. anatolicus (Fremuth, 1992), P. bosnicus (Apfelbeck, 1898), P. calabricus (Borovec, 1986), P. championi (Formanek, 1907), P. fleischeri (Formanek, 1911), P. gracilicornis (Seidlitz, 1868), P. hellenicus (Borovec, 1988), P. macedonicus (Petryszak, 1983), P. neglectus (Borovec, 1992), P. osellai (Fremuth, 1992), P. suomalaineni (Petryszak, 1990), P. thessalicus (Penecke, 1924), P. turcicus (Seidlitz, 1868), P. ventricosus (Germar, 1824), P. ypsilon (Seidlitz, 1868), Romualdius algerinus (Seidlitz, 1868), R. angustisetulus (Hansen, 1915), R. ascendens (Peyerimhoff, 1918), R. beauprei (Pic, 1905), R. bifoveolatus (Beck, 1817), R. femuthi (Borovec et Osella, 1996), R. leprosus (Hoffmann, 1938), R. longirostris (Formanek, 1910), R. pardoi (Hoffmann, 1952), R. peyerimhoffi (Formanek, 1910), R. rhinodontoides (Hoffmann, 1952), R. canaliculatus (Schaufuss, 1867), Stuebenius amplithorax (Formanek, 1900), S. amicalis (Borovec et Osella, 1993), S. apuanus (A.
