: | Seasonal abundance of Euscepes Postfasciatus (FAIRMAIRE) at a creeping colony of Ipomoea pescaprae was investigated in Amami-oshima Island, from October 2002 to December 2004. Stem sampling, sweet potato roots traps and sweet potato roots traps with four LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) were used in the study. Stem sampling, sweet potato roots traps and sweet potato roots traps with four LEDs were able to confirm infestation all year round. The number of E. postfasciatus in stem increased from May to June, and in sweet potato roots traps, the number increased from April to July. It was thought that there was a population peak in this colony from May to June. Sweet potato roots traps with four green or blue LEDs was more attractive than sweet potato roots traps in the field. |
