I have just begun my PhD looking into the taxonomy of the New Zealand endemic genus Irenimus. If anyone has any specimens of New Zealand entimine weevil they would like to have identified and incorporated into the revision, please get in touch.

Thomas Broun is not known for his lavishly illustrated descriptions, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a reprint of his 1908 revision of the New Zealand Cossoninae with a couple of photographic plates published with it. The full text of the volume is available as both HTML and a PDF from here on the National Library of New Zealand website.

I am currently working on putting together a list of all the Curculionoidea recorded from New Zealand and the South Pacific (excluding New Guinea). The New Zealand one is going well, the South Pacific list is barely started. If you have any references to either region, please let me know!
